The Community Health Nurses of Alberta (CHNAlberta) is a specialty practice group for RNs who work in or with communities. CHNAlberta is committed to creating connections with community health nurses (CHNs) in Alberta.

• MEMBERSHIP in both CHNAlberta and CHNC (Community Health Nurses of Alberta)

Who should be a CHNAlberta member?

Many nurses from across Alberta including those working in First Nations communities are members of CHNAlberta. Any RN who works in the community or with communities is a community health nurse (CHN) and all are welcome to join CHNAlberta. 

CHNs include public health nurses, home health/care nurses, and community-based nurses. CHNs promote the health of individuals, families, communities, and populations by creating environments that support health.
